Chef and owner, Rob Robinson is no stranger to the diverse flavors of Baja California and Mexico. His five years living and working in California as well as traveling to both Baja and mainland Mexico started his love for the dynamic flavors of these regions. The cuisine of these regions has so much more to offer than what is often presented by the typical “Mexican” restaurant across America.
Specializing in exquisite and refreshing island cuisine in a classy yet casual tropical ambiance, Barefoot Bernie’s Tropical Grill & Bar has become a true destination on the Kitty Hawk restaurants circuit. The Black Pelican offers panoramic ocean views from our dining rooms and outside deck. Our unique building was constructed in 1874 and used as a United States Lifesaving Station. Walk through maritime history while savoring an unforgettable meal. The Black Pelican serves lunch and dinner daily. Fresh seafood, steaks, vegetarian dishes, sandwiches and wood oven pizzas are some of the items offered on our menu. The Black Pelican also has a menu designed just for kids. We have comfortable dining rooms that will accommodate dinner for two or 22. Lunch and dinner are served at our full service bar, along with some local color.
You can not get a fresher donut anywhere. Make a beeline for Duck Donuts where you will find warm, delicious and made-to-order doughnuts. Duck Donuts makes its doughnuts fresh on site, and you have the option of each one being dipped in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, peanut butter or maple glaze then sprinkled with your favorite toppings.
Any trip to North Carolina isn’t complete without North Carolina barbecue. The unique flavor of eastern Carolina style barbecue can be experienced at its very best at High Cotton. Once you walk in High Cotton and you’ll work up an appetite. The restaurant is filled with the aroma of slow cooked barbecue. High Cotton uses Hickory coals to slowly smoke the barbecue, producing a sweet, tender meat that’s pink on the inside and brown on the outside.
I Got Your Crabs Shellfish Market and Oyster Bar is a locally owned and operated restaurant in Kitty Hawk, NC. While blue crabs will always be our focus, we’re proud to serve a variety of seafood including oysters, shrimp, crab legs, soft crabs, and fish for dine in or take out. The Outer Banks’ original pancake house houses in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills. Family owed and operated for 26 years.
